In this book, the first of a series of three, an old wizard(Chaucer) is given a child (Erelon) with inconceivable power and raises him as his own son with the help of gnomes. Through contacts that Chaucer has gained through years of experience in the world, he arranges to have Erelon trained by two of the greatest smiths, one elf and one dwarve. After Erelon's skirmish with the nobility and a large battle with trolls, where Erelon comes out a victor, his infamy begins to spread. As Chaucer's own body and magic threatens to consume him, he is forced to throw his adopted son into the world. Erelon becomes involved with a group that had banished Chaucer years before, from a fortress built for wizards. Here Erelon discovers both an evil released by the previous generation of wizards using an ancient relic built by an extinct magical race of man known as the Humbas.

Every time I tried to finish this book I fell asleep. The story is good the characters have a lot of potential but the telling of the story reminds me of a teacher telling us a tale in a dry monotone voice.Product details

Really Enjoyed this book, I will recommend it. Great Read, and exciting.
I found the book to be quite intriguing was long but had great detail like to paint a picture of whats around you and put you in the story. I would recommend this book to anyone and at 2.99 what a steal. Great job!!!!!
Gave it a 2 just because the story could have been really good. If you like reading 10 pages about the surroundings followed by 5 pages of story followed by unproductive rambling. If the story had been 250 pages of what was relevant instead of 750 pages of hit and miss story mixed with rambling it could have been good.
Pretty generic, could be much better. Air doesn't come out of the pores in a persons skin when you punch them. Page count bloated by huge font.
